Kansas City Open Qualifying Format for the Youth Junior Gold Championships

Junior Gold: If possible, Kansas City Open (KCO) will sponsor eight Junior Gold (JG) youth qualifying events, September through and including May, point tournaments.  Entries will be accepted the day of the tournament.  Bowlers must show a current JG membership card before each tournament.  Bowlers can purchase a JG membership on the day of the tournament if necessary.  Unless a valid card is displayed prior to each tournament, that bowler will not be allowed to bowl JG qualifying event in that KCO point tournament. 

Ø  Bowlers whose birth date is 08/01/2013 or later will participate in the U12 division. 

U12 JG membership fee is $25.00 and entry fee for each U12 bowler at each tournament is $37.50. 

Ø  Bowlers whose birth date is 08/01/2011 – 07/31/2013 will participate in the U14 division.  U14 JG membership fee is $40.00 and entry fee for each U14 bowler at each tournament is $50.00.

Ø  Bowlers whose birth date is 08/01/2009 – 07/31/2011 will participate in the U16 division.  U16 JG membership fee is $50.00 and entry fee for each U16 bowler at each tournament is $62.50.

Ø  Bowlers whose birth date is 08/01/2007 – 07/31/2009 will participate in the U18 division.  U18 JG membership fee is $50.00 and entry fee for each U18 bowler at each tournament is $62.50.

All divisions are combined competitions unless they are able to be separated by gender without turning away any bowlers.  The number of spots awarded is determined the day of the tournament based on the number entries that day per division.  JG is a scratch tournament and each bowler’s six games qualifying scores of the KCO tournament will be used.  KCO qualifies 1:4 ratios to entries per division.  Ties that need to be decided for qualifying advancers and/or first non-qualifier spot will be decided by a 9^th and 10^th frame roll-off prior to KCO Stepladder final matches.  The first non-qualifier above the initial ratio with excess entries in each division can advance by paying funds to complete the entry fee.  JG qualifier will not be held during the KCO Youth/Adult tournaments.
