When possible, The Kansas City Open (KCO) will sponsor U20 Adult Junior Gold (U20G) qualifying at both youth/adult tournaments. Bowlers must show current U20G membership card before each tournament. If a bowler does not have their current U20G membership card, they can purchase one on the day of the tournament or during pre-registration prepay options.
A U20G membership consists of bowlers who MUST:
Unless a valid card is displayed prior to each tournament, that bowler will not be allowed to bowl U20G qualifying in that KCO youth/adult tournament.
Adult bowler’s whose birth date is 08/01/2001 – 07/31/2003 will be able to
participate. U20G membership fee is $30.00 and entry fee for each U20G
bowler at each tournament is $50.00.
All KCO YOUTH/ADULT TOURNAMENT RULES WILL APPLY which means you must, per rules, be competing in the tournament to bowl in the U20G qualifier. Both squads scores are combined for this qualifier and is a combined competition unless able to separate by gender without turning away any bowlers. The number of spots awarded is determined the day of the tournament based on the number entries that day. U20G is a scratch tournament and each bowler's five games qualifying scores of the KCO tournament will be used. KCO qualifies 1:4 ratios to entries. Ties that need to be decided for qualifying advancers and/or first non-qualifier spot will be decided by a 9th and 10th frame roll-off prior to KCO Stepladder final matches. The first non-qualifier above initial ratio (excess entries) can advance by paying funds to complete the entry fee. KCO U20G qualifiers will only be held during the KCO Youth/Adult tournaments.
